Job Description:

Robert Half is partnering with one of their well-established manufacturing clients on their recruitment efforts to find a full-time, direct hire, Assistant Controller to join their team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work closely with the Materials team to validate the precision of the physical inventory and the reported results, and address any discrepancies
  • Conduct reviews and analysis of labor reports, material costs, overheads in manufacturing, returns, and inventory levels
  • Play a pivotal role in the month-end closing process, which includes the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation, and completion of assigned tasks
  • Perform monthly scrutiny of potential excess and obsolete inventory items
  • Evaluate internal controls to ensure the safeguarding of assets and accurate reporting of results
  • Ensure strict adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Prepare and oversee daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Take the lead and assist in the execution of special projects as and when required
  • Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly internal financial reports for senior management, updating reporting formats regularly for relevance and efficiency
  • Develop forecasts and budgets, including comprehensive balance sheet forecasts and roll-forwards of PP& E spending and depreciation
  • Analyze and interpret accounting data to compare operating results with previous periods, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring adjustments are recorded accurately
  • Evaluate operational efficiencies and suggest procedural enhancements to improve operations
  • Perform data input, tracking, and reporting through weekly dashboards, cost trackers, and working capital reduction initiatives
  • Support the development of consistent, fact-based decision-making across the business
  • Coordinate with and provide information for external and internal auditors as required

Requirements:

  • Applicant must possess a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in various accounting functions is mandatory
  • Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
  • Solid understanding of GAAP Accounting
  • Experience in Inventory Accounting is a plus
