We’re supporting a large and rapidly growing Plant operation in Strabane, PA. The organization is investing heavily in upgrading systems, processes, financial visibility, and in the team itself. We are seeking a hands-on, sharp, and growth-minded Assistant Controller to partner closely with the Plant Controller in running the financial operations of a large, high‑revenue, multi-entity environment. This is an opportunity to step into a critical role where you’ll directly shape day‑to‑day accounting operations, strengthen financial controls, and contribute to the modernization of the finance function. This role is ideal for someone who has strong industry experience and is ready to take the next step in their career—learning directly under an experienced Controller while playing a meaningful role in a large, evolving organization.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Plant Controller with all aspects of the accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Take ownership of month‑end close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and internal controls
Assist with consolidated financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Work closely with operations, project managers, and plant leadership to provide financial visibility and support decision-making
Participate in process improvements to strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across accounting operations
Support enhancements in job costing, revenue recognition, WIP reporting, inventory, and project-based accounting
Help mentor and guide junior accounting staff as needed
Step in as a trusted right-hand partner to the Controller, with opportunities for leadership growth
Requirements:
Strong experience in accounting within construction, engineering, manufacturing, electrical contracting, logistics, utilities, or similar project‑based industries
Experience supporting a large, high-revenue operation or multi-entity environment
5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with senior-level or supervisory experience preferred
Strong understanding of job cost accounting, project accounting, WIP, inventory, and revenue recognition
Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable operating in a fast‑moving, high‑growth environment
Someone who enjoys being both hands-on and collaborative, and who wants to continue growing into higher levels of accounting leadership
