We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to financial oversight and management within a dynamic retail environment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining compliance, supporting strategic financial decisions, and improving accounting practices.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the preparation of accurate financial reports and statements, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies
Support the development and implementation of financial policies and systems to align with organizational strategies
Collaborate in budget planning and ongoing management of financial resources
Conduct audits, review general ledger entries, and ensure the accuracy of financial data
Monitor accounting department operations and contribute to optimizing its organizational structure
Participate in tax audits and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal financial and legal requirements
Analyze financial discrepancies and implement corrective measures to prevent future issues
Provide oversight for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions
Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline financial processes and reporting
Contribute to forecasting and data analysis to inform strategic decision-making
Requirements:
Proven experience in an assistant controller or equivalent financial role
Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements
Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Excel, Crystal Reports, and Concur
Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and forecasting
Familiarity with auditing practices and compliance standards
Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
certifications such as CPA or CMA are highly desirable
Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other core accounting functions
