Assistant Controller

• Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and month-end/year-end close
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Conduct financial analysis to support management decision-making
• Serve as liaison with internal and external auditors, ensuring audit readiness
• Develop, implement, and enforce internal controls and accounting policies
• Ensure reconciliation of balance sheet accounts with supporting documentation
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
• Research and apply new accounting pronouncements and resolve system-related issues with internal teams and vendors

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• supervisory experience preferred
• Experience with core banking systems in relation to general ledger posting preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience in a financial institution or credit union environment preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• High proficiency with accounting software and Excel

Previous Credit Union experience or Financial Institution environment preferred
