Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas. The ideal candidate will bring over seven years of experience in accounting and financial management, along with a strong command of accounting systems and processes. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations
  • Manage month-end close processes, including general ledger and account reconciliations
  • Conduct thorough audits to maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to company policies
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts
  • Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff to enhance growth and efficiency
  • Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Implement and maintain accounting software systems to optimize workflows and reporting capabilities
  • Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records
  • Support external audits by preparing required documentation and addressing inquiries

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems and tools
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing financial statements and conducting audits
  • Experience managing month-end close processes and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting methodologies
