Assistant Controller

• Supervise various financial operations, including financial reporting, tax preparation, and accounts payable
• Manage fund accounting for endowments, restricted funds, and plant funds
• Collaborate with the Controller to establish and implement university financial policies and standards
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements in all accounting functions
• Oversee the Bursar’s Office and provide guidance on financial transactions
• Evaluate financial systems and recommend improvements to optimize workflows
• Analyze contracts and grant proposals to assess financial feasibility and operational impact
• Support the preparation and coordination of financial audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Develop and implement short- and long-term financial goals in alignment with organizational objectives
• Foster a cooperative work environment and lead efforts to build high-performing teams

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or eligibility to obtain
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a large organization
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles and GAAP standards
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
• Experience in financial reporting, tax preparation, and accounts payable
• Knowledge of university or non-profit financial operations is preferred
• Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills
