Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Controller up to Controller to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska, and lead our financial operations with precision and integrity. This position is a full-time, permanent position with a Manufacturing/Production company that will work directly with the CFO to oversee and manage the accounting & finance department. Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and trial balance, investigating and resolving discrepancies effectively
  • Prepare internal financial statements and supporting schedules for leadership and external stakeholders
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment for transactions, including revenue, inventory, capital expenditures, and intercompany activities
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance data integrity across departments
  • Document and improve accounting policies and internal controls to ensure audit readiness and compliance with standards
  • Identify opportunities to optimize reporting processes and reduce the monthly close timeline
  • Utilize accounting systems and software to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation within financial operations
  • Support audits and special projects, implementing scalable accounting solutions for business growth
  • Collaborate on budgeting processes, variance analysis, and financial forecasting to assist in strategic planning

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems, such as Great Plains Dynamics
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement scalable accounting solutions
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to resolve variances effectively
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across departments and with leadership
