Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Controller up to Controller to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska, and lead our financial operations with precision and integrity. This position is a full-time, permanent position with a Manufacturing/Production company that will work directly with the CFO to oversee and manage the accounting & finance department. Job Responsibility:

Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and trial balance, investigating and resolving discrepancies effectively
Prepare internal financial statements and supporting schedules for leadership and external stakeholders
Ensure proper accounting treatment for transactions, including revenue, inventory, capital expenditures, and intercompany activities
Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance data integrity across departments
Document and improve accounting policies and internal controls to ensure audit readiness and compliance with standards
Identify opportunities to optimize reporting processes and reduce the monthly close timeline
Utilize accounting systems and software to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation within financial operations
Support audits and special projects, implementing scalable accounting solutions for business growth
Collaborate on budgeting processes, variance analysis, and financial forecasting to assist in strategic planning

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in accounting software systems, such as Great Plains Dynamics
Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close procedures
Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement scalable accounting solutions
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to resolve variances effectively
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across departments and with leadership
