We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Fullerton, California. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in cost accounting and financial reporting, particularly within a manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial data, supporting audits, and driving process improvements.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports
Manage inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, ensuring accurate valuations and reconciliations
Establish and monitor standard costs, including bills of materials (BOMs), routing, cost absorption, and variance analysis
Prepare management reports, business reviews, and capital expenditure analyses, including payback and post-implementation reviews
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and assisting with financial, internal, and governmental compliance reviews
Analyze budgeting and forecasting performance, monitor KPIs, and identify areas for cost optimization
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial data and ensure compliance with regulations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and drive operational efficiency
Provide insights and analysis for strategic decision-making, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Assist in monitoring and reporting on key financial metrics to provide clear visibility into organizational performance
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required
3–5 years of experience in a cost accounting or financial analysis role within a standard cost environment
Proficiency in US GAAP and standard cost accounting systems is essential
Hands-on experience with inventory accounting and reconciliation across raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
Demonstrated ability to handle month-end close processes, journal entries, and financial reporting
Experience supporting audits, including financial, internal, and governmental reviews
Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, KPI monitoring, and variance analysis
Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement abilities to drive financial accuracy and efficiency
