Job Responsibility:
Lead and support the accounting team, including managing three direct reports and overseeing a broader team of 6-8 staff members
Guide the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
Produce, review, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to both internal and external stakeholders
Monitor financial statement accounts and ensure accurate posting of entries across departments
Review and maintain schedules for assigned balance sheet accounts to ensure proper reconciliation
Provide accounting expertise to other departments by researching and interpreting financial data
Collaborate with the executive team to identify and implement improvements in accounting and operational processes
Assist with the preparation of general ledger entries and maintain appropriate documentation
Work with external auditors to complete annual financial and tax reviews
Participate in internal audits, providing valuable insights and ensuring compliance with financial standards
Requirements:
Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management
Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) systems
Ability to produce and analyze financial statements, including audits and reporting
Proficiency in bank account reconciliation and related processes
Familiarity with accounting systems
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team effectively
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen understanding of debits and credits
Audit experience is highly preferred
Nice to have:
Experience in industry-specific software is a plus
