We are looking for an Assistant Controller to support accounting operations for a growing organization in Cerritos, California. This role will help maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities, strengthen reporting processes, and contribute to a timely close cycle. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound knowledge of financial controls, and the ability to partner effectively on audit and receivables activities.
Job Responsibility:
Manage general ledger activity for three legal entities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and consistently
Lead the monthly close process by preparing, reviewing, and finalizing entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Supervise one direct report, providing direction, review, and day-to-day support for general accounting work
Monitor accounts receivable posting activity and evaluate aging trends to help maintain accurate balances and timely follow-up
Assist with audit coordination by organizing documentation, responding to requests, and supporting year-end review activities
Produce and review financial reports to confirm completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards
Support system administration and related accounting process oversight to improve reliability and reporting effectiveness
Requirements:
Proven experience managing month-end close activities in a corporate accounting environment
Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and multi-entity financial management
Background supporting financial statement audits and preparing audit-ready documentation
Ability to analyze receivables activity, monitor aging, and maintain accurate accounting records
Experience preparing financial reports with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Effective leadership and communication skills, including experience overseeing at least one accounting team member
Nice to have:
Familiarity with DCAA-related requirements and regulated financial practices is preferred
