This role involves managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and providing valuable insights to drive business performance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting, reporting, and project-based financial management.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the month-end close process, including project reviews, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
Manage general ledger, payroll, and fixed asset activities to ensure timely and accurate transaction processing
Conduct performance analysis and variance reporting to support informed business decisions
Assist in the development and execution of budgets and financial forecasts for the business unit
Implement and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain compliance and improve operational efficiency
Drive enhancements to financial and operational controls in alignment with percentage of completion accounting methodologies
Provide leadership and training to operational and accounting personnel to achieve reporting and compliance objectives
Address ad-hoc financial requirements such as system enhancements, business modeling, tax reporting, acquisition support, and special projects
Collaborate with auditors and ensure compliance with financial statement audits and reporting requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
CPA license is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
Prior experience in public accounting or private equity-owned organizations is advantageous
Familiarity with project-based industries, such as construction or engineering, is highly preferred
Strong understanding of percentage of completion accounting principles
Proficiency in general ledger systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, work-in-progress accounting, and revenue recognition
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have:
Prior experience in public accounting or private equity-owned organizations
Familiarity with project-based industries, such as construction or engineering
