As the Assistant Controller, you’ll work closely with the Controller and the rest of the leadership team to support all aspects of the company’s financial operations. You’ll play a critical role in managing day-to-day accounting functions, assisting with financial reporting, and contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes. Job Responsibility:
Assist the Controller in managing financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and internal controls
Support the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
Help manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions
Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts in alignment with company goals
Support tax filings and regulatory compliance activities, working closely with external auditors and tax professionals
Help drive process improvements in accounting and reporting procedures, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights on variances, trends, and financial performance
Assist with cash flow management and recommend improvements to working capital management
Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making and optimize operational performance
Mentor and guide junior finance staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment
Take ownership of special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or working toward certification preferred)
3+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant role
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and budgeting
Experience with financial software and Excel
familiarity with accounting systems (ERP experience a plus)
Ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings to non-financial stakeholders
High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
A proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach
Desire to learn, grow, and take on new challenges within an entrepreneurial company
Proficient in all basic Accounting Functions
Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)
Capable of managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
Knowledge and experience in Auditing
Able to perform Billing Functions effectively
Familiar with the Financial Close Process
Skilled in Ledger Account Reconciliation
Capable of performing Monthly Account Reconciliation
Nice to have:
CPA or working toward certification preferred
ERP experience a plus
