Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join us on a contract basis in Dallas, Texas. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting a finance transformation initiative, focusing on converting accounting methods and implementing new systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accrual accounting and a proven ability to manage complex financial transitions.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee the transition from cash to accrual accounting, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance
  • Develop and implement a new Chart of Accounts tailored to Sage Intacct, consolidating data from QuickBooks across multiple entities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate system integration and data migration across six entities
  • Act as a subject matter expert on accrual accounting, mentoring team members and providing expertise
  • Review, reconcile, and prepare financial statements during and after the accounting conversion process
  • Consolidate financial information from multiple entities using advanced Excel techniques for reporting purposes
  • Ensure all processes and internal controls are thoroughly documented and updated throughout the transition

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • At least three years of accounting experience, with in-depth knowledge of accrual accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including vlookups, pivot tables, and complex formulas
  • Proven experience in managing accounting conversions or implementing financial systems
  • Familiarity with designing and consolidating a Chart of Accounts
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Expertise in QuickBooks is required, while Sage Intacct experience is highly preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
