We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to support the financial functions of our organization in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, you will work closely with the Controller and finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with policies, and effective management of accounting operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee monthly financial close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Review and monitor the work of accounting staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies
Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts to align with strategic objectives
Perform account reconciliations and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement
Supervise and mentor team members, fostering a culture of growth and continuous development
Collaborate with leadership to develop financial strategies and provide variance analysis to support decision-making
Enhance and implement accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors
Manage cash flow operations, including cash forecasting and adherence to cash-handling procedures
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience
At least three years of progressive experience in accounting
Proficiency in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and financial reporting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and financial software applications
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial information
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
