Are you a detail-oriented construction professional looking to sharpen your expertise in project sequencing and bid strategy? We are seeking an Assistant Construction Planner to join our team in Kings Hill. This role is pivotal in supporting Design & Build projects, with a specific focus on tender-stage and early PCSA project planning.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in preparing tender and pre-construction programmes
  • Contribute to planning narratives and supporting bid documentation
  • Support the development of construction methodologies, phasing, and logistics strategies
  • Support design development, information release schedules, and procurement sequencing
  • Assist with the development of baseline construction programmes and support mobilisation and early design coordination
  • Assist project teams with progress updates, programme reviews, and look-ahead planning
  • Work with commercial, design, and delivery teams to ensure robust and coordinated programmes
  • Maintain accurate records and planning documentation in line with company procedures and QMS

Requirements:

  • HNC (or above) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Working knowledge of Asta Powerproject or MS Project
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams
  • Flexibility regarding work location and a willingness to undertake site visits

  • Prepare the standard man-hour estimates based on the design quantities and the established WBS
  • Feed Schedule with estimated standard Manhours to obtain the Progress Curves and Manpower Histograms
  • Ensure that the schedules developed by the Subcontractors, as per their contractual obligations, are in alignment with the Level 4 Construction Schedule
  • Perform schedule control at the cut-off dates and provide a forecast on completion dates especially if any adverse trends occur so that the recovery plan can be effectively enforced
  • Assess physical progress at the cut-off dates, taking note of any evidence of deviations from the baseline and suggesting the remedial actions, if any
  • Perform manpower control by collecting time sheets from the Subcontractors and compare the actual manpower against the planned, as per the baseline
  • Prepare the weekly/monthly Progress Report related to the Site activities in accordance with the Project Procedures
  • Collaborate with the central Project Controls team to ensure site planning data feeds into overall project performance metrics
