Assistant Commissioner of Health and Human Services

• Supports the Commissioner's leadership and oversight in all areas of health and human services
• developing and planning services to meet the needs of the community
• supports long-range planning related to the programs and operations
• acts as the town ADA Coordinator
• assists in daily management responsibility and general supervision over functions, programs, services, operations, activities and facilities of the department and its divisions
• develops and maintains internal and external databases/systems for the department
• advises on evidence-based practices for health and safety in the community
• analyzes local, national, global trends
• utilizes statistical tools and engages in data-driven decision-making
• solicits feedback from key data partners
• leads identification, development, writing, and submission of grant proposals
• crafts proposals and bid responses
• coordinates data tracking, monitoring, communication with funders and all other regulatory requirements of grantees
• assists in monitoring and disseminating information relating to state and federal policies
• assists in implementation and advocacy for programs on a regional and statewide basis

• Master's degree in public health, human services, social work, public administration or a related field
• five years of increasingly responsible experience in program management, including financial and personnel administration
• or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certified Health Officer by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Health Officers preferred
• Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License
