To support the ongoing growth of our cluster, we are looking for an Assistant Chief Engineer who combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence. In this role, you will help oversee the technical operations of our three hotels, ensuring that our buildings, installations and maintenance processes meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, sustainability and guest satisfaction. A BEHIND-THE-SCENES LOOK AT YOUR ROLE As Assistant Chief Engineer, you will support the overall coordination of technical operations across the hotel cluster. Working closely with the General Managers, operational departments, technicians and external contractors, you will help ensure that all facilities remain safe, efficient and fully operational. This is a highly visible position where you will combine technical leadership, project coordination, preventive maintenance planning, compliance management and sustainability initiatives. Your responsibilities include: Lead, coach and support a team of maintenance technicians across three hotels while coordinating schedules, priorities and emergency coverage. Oversee all preventive, corrective and day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure smooth and uninterrupted hotel operations. Coordinate repairs, renovations and technical improvement projects in collaboration with internal departments and external contractors. Monitor and optimise the performance of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical installations, lifts, fire safety systems and guestroom infrastructure. Work closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B and Operations teams to proactively resolve technical issues that may impact the guest experience. Drive energy efficiency, sustainability initiatives and utility consumption monitoring to support environmental and cost-saving objectives. Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, fire safety standards, emergency procedures, audits, inspections and brand requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardisation and knowledge sharing while promoting a proactive maintenance culture focused on quality, efficiency and guest satisfaction. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? You are a hands-on technical professional who enjoys combining operational involvement with leadership responsibilities. You are organised, solution-oriented and comfortable working in a dynamic hospitality environment where no two days are the same. Your profile: A technical qualification or equivalent experience in building maintenance, engineering or facilities management. Experience coordinating maintenance activities or leading technical teams. Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing and general maintenance. A good understanding of safety regulations and preventive maintenance practices. Excellent organisational and communication skills. A proactive and guest-focused mindset. Good command of Dutch and English. Flexibility to occasionally support outside standard office hours when operationally required. WHY JOIN US?
