This supervisory position oversees maintenance personnel and building operations during assigned shifts, ensuring all base building and critical system machinery operates efficiently. You'll serve as the primary leader for your maintenance team while assuming Chief Engineer responsibilities when needed. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with staff supervision, preventative maintenance coordination, and vendor management to maintain optimal building performance.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise and direct maintenance staff performance, monitoring their assigned responsibilities and work quality
Respond to and coordinate all maintenance service requests, ensuring efficient completion with minimal tenant disruption
Diagnose malfunctioning equipment and determine appropriate corrective actions to restore proper operation
Provide hands-on training to operations staff on tool usage, maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques
Implement and oversee the preventative maintenance program, scheduling tasks to minimize service interruptions
Order necessary parts and equipment for repairs, maintenance, and installations while maintaining adequate inventory levels
Ensure compliance with hazardous materials policies and maintain a clean, safe workplace environment
Prepare purchase order requests, develop supplier relationships, and conduct regular inventory checks
Assume Chief Engineer duties and decision-making authority during their absence
Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
5+ years of relevant facility/plant engineering maintenance experience
3+ years of supervisory experience in maintenance operations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for staff management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions for extended periods
Nice to have:
2+ years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and/or HVAC systems
Additional technical certifications in building systems or maintenance management
