Job Description:

Are you a hands-on engineering professional with a passion for keeping iconic properties running at their best and delivering seamless guest experiences? Do you thrive in a fast-paced hotel environment, supporting complex operations while leading and developing a high-performing engineering team? W Brisbane is seeking a motivated Assistant Chief Engineer to support the day-to-day engineering operations, ensure asset reliability and compliance, and help drive preventative maintenance and sustainability initiatives across the hotel.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the management of daily property operations, including supervision and distribution of engineering repair work orders
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs across all building systems
  • Oversee the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, water treatment, generators, fire pumps, and life safety systems
  • Inspect hotel facilities to maintain brand and safety standards, ensuring timely completion and quality of maintenance works
  • Supervise Engineering operations and related areas in the absence of the Director of Engineering
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and compliance documentation
  • Lead, train, and support engineering team members, including safety procedures, onboarding, performance feedback, and staffing levels
  • Promote exceptional guest service by setting a positive example, empowering employees, and providing 24/7 emergency response support

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years’ experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area
  • technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major
  • 2 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area
