Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a team of Care Assistants ensuring correct procedures are followed, and conduct their Annual Development and Interim Reviews
  • Provide all aspects of domiciliary care to our residents including both physical, personal care and support with social activities, and support or assist with medication
  • Develop, implement and maintain individual care and support plans, and carry out staff performance observations and medication audits
  • Support the Registered Manager with meeting CQC requirements including audit preparation
  • Provide residents and relatives with an effective communication network
  • Ensure residents are encouraged to reach their optimum level of independence
  • Ensure all administrative systems are implemented effectively

Requirements:

  • An NVQ / QCF Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or will work towards this qualification)
  • Experience in managing a team within a similar environment
  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting clients when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and all other aspects of daily living
  • Assist clients in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual)

  • Pay particular attention to assisting clients who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided
  • Closely monitor clients who may be confused and/or who have behavioural problems

  • Assist in the delivery of care for clients who are dying or who have a progressive illness. Assist with last offices
  • Observe care planning needs for clients and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Assist in a framework of social activities by interacting with clients and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the care home
  • Answer nurse call system, giving assistance as required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately. Respond accordingly and pass on messages promptly
