An established multidisciplinary property consultancy with one of the UK's largest Building Surveying teams is looking to appoint an Assistant Building Surveyor to join its growing Cambridge office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone part-way through their APC or with early post-graduate experience who is looking to build a long-term career within a highly respected consultancy. You'll be joining a supportive, well-structured team with a strong track record of developing surveyors through to Chartership. The Cambridge office offers a modern, high-quality working environment in a well-connected location, making it easily commutable from across the region.
Job Responsibility:
Assisting with the delivery of building surveys, condition reports and technical due diligence
Supporting contract administration duties across refurbishment and maintenance projects
Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation
Undertaking defect analysis and reporting
Assisting with dilapidations instructions and negotiations
Supporting reinstatement cost assessments and PPM schedules
Attending site inspections and client meetings
Requirements:
Degree in Building Surveying or a RICS-accredited related discipline
Working towards APC / MRICS (or planning to start)
Some practical experience in a Building Surveying role (consultancy or client-side)
Strong interest in both professional services and project work
Good technical grounding in construction and building pathology
Confident communication skills and a professional approach with clients
Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple instructions
