Job Description:

As the Assistant Branch Manager in charge of Sales at our large Weybridge branch, you’ll support the new but experienced Branch Manager in leading the team of 12 colleagues. You'll drive daily sales activity to support the team in achieving sales targets and boosting the branch profitability, while leading and motivating them to achieve their high potential. When the Branch Manager is away, you’ll take charge and help implement the branch’s sales and operational strategy. Your role is to create fantastic customer relationships with every one of the daily footfall, inspire your team by example, and ensuring the branch runs smoothly and efficiently - including their fleet of 4 vehicles and the successful Tool Hire department. This role is fast-paced and rewarding. You’ll be working in a high-energy environment with plenty of customer interaction.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the Branch Manager in leading a team of 12 colleagues
  • Drive daily sales activity to achieve sales targets and boost branch profitability
  • Lead and motivate the team
  • Take charge when the Branch Manager is away
  • Help implement the branch’s sales and operational strategy
  • Create fantastic customer relationships
  • Inspire the team by example
  • Ensure the branch runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Manage a fleet of 4 vehicles and the Tool Hire department
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, security, and smoking policies
  • Complete weekly checklists
  • Take immediate action to address safety concerns
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team
  • Drive personal growth
  • Ensure excellent customer service
  • Build strong, lasting customer relationships
  • Manage stock takes and inventory checks
  • Adjust stock levels to optimize profitability
  • Stay updated on local market trends
  • Collaborate with the External Sales Rep
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies
  • Foster an inclusive environment

Requirements:

  • Experienced in sales or a similar role
  • Background in motivating and developing teams
  • Skilled at connecting with people, building strong relationships, and negotiating deals
  • Highly organised and can prioritize tasks
  • Ability to analyze data to make informed decisions
  • Understands the importance of health & safety
  • Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service
  • Energetic team player focused on hitting goals
  • Relevant builders merchant experience (helpful but not mandatory)
  • Confident and successful sales leader in a customer-centric industry (alternative)
