Keypath Education is supporting Walsh University’s search for a qualified Assistant or Associate Professor to teach in the Counseling & Human Development Program. Walsh University is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an innovative, energetic individual interested in joining the Counseling and Human Development (CHD) program as an Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek an enthusiastic, team-oriented, mission-driven counselor educator with a strong commitment to student and program development. The CHD program offers a fully online, CACREP-accredited Master of Arts in Counseling and Human Development with specializations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. The program is housed within the School of Behavioral and Health Sciences, alongside programs in Exercise Science, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy. This is a 12-month, full-time faculty position with teaching, advising, scholarship, and service responsibilities.
Job Responsibility:
Teach graduate-level courses in counseling
Assist in the ongoing review, development, and refinement of curriculum
Utilize engaging, inclusive, and evidence-based instructional strategies
Advise and mentor graduate students
Participate in student remediation and retention efforts
Maintain an active scholarly agenda
Serve on school and/or university-level committees
Engage in professional development
Collaborate with faculty colleagues to support accreditation efforts and program operations
Embody a team-oriented mindset
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Support the mission, values, and Judeo-Christian identity of Walsh University
Requirements:
PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP accredited institution (ABD considered for exceptional candidates, with an expected degree completion date of December 2025 from a CACREP accredited institution)
Meet CACREP expectations for core faculty
Eligible for licensure as an LPC and/or school counselor in the state of Ohio
Demonstrated experience as a licensed clinical practitioner in community mental health settings or as a licensed school counselor
Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and commitment to student-centered education and development
Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to complex projects in a collaborative manner
Nice to have:
Addictions / Chemical Dependency experience and credentials
Prior teaching experience at the graduate level (especially in a CACREP accredited graduate program)
