As our Assistant Stock Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of our stock related financials across an extensive product range—including raw materials, consignment stock, and goods flowing through our store network and central operations. With stock valued at over £100m, your work directly supports decision making at senior levels, helping us protect our assets, optimise performance, and improve processes across the business. You’ll become our go to expert for stock related financial activity.
Job Responsibility:
Reconciling consignment stock, investigating variances, and working closely with Accounts Payable and Merchandising to resolve issues
Reviewing and reconciling Freight, Duty and other stock related overheads, proactively identifying over/under recoveries
Managing the flow of gold and other raw materials through manufacturing, WIP, and finished goods
Providing accurate monthly reporting and insightful analysis to senior management
Ensuring the accuracy of stock held within the Store Support Centre and driving improvements to stock control processes
Owning quarterly stock provision calculations and delivering clear commentary on movements
Monitoring non pristine stock levels and supporting initiatives to reduce them
Supporting monthly accounting processes, including accruals and prepayments for stock costs
Coordinating bi-annual Asset Protection packs covering shrinkage and asset control
Facilitating SSC stocktakes and managing charity income in partnership with our charity teams
Requirements:
Studying CIMA/ACCA (part qualified) or a finance-related degree with some commercial experience
Strong numeracy skills and a confident, analytical mindset
The ability to translate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
Experience working with data and large/complex datasets
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
A proactive, improvement focused approach with great attention to detail
