Mammoet Australia is on the lookout for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a global leader in heavy lifting and transport solutions. You’ll play an integral role within the finance team, assisting with the day-to-day financial operations of the business and working closely with the Financial Controller. You’ll also collaborate with project and site teams to ensure the smooth, timely, and accurate handling of financial processes. This role represents a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their financial skills within a large global organisation. It is a broad-based role with multiple layers of support and you will gain experience working with multiple functions (projects, procurement, logistics, operations, etc) within a world-class company. The role will be based in our Booragoon office on a Full-Time Monday-Friday basis, with flexible working hours options.

Job Responsibility

  • Assisting with month end close, journal entries and monthly reconciliations
  • Performing bank reconciliations and uploads
  • Managing and processing employee claims (credit cards, expenses)
  • Preparing Business Activity Statement (BAS) returns
  • Supporting internal and external audit activities
  • Performing general accounting-related duties as needed

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in similar role is desirable (recent graduates are welcome to apply)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel
  • A proactive and positive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy
  • The ability to show initiative and work independently
