Assistant Accountant

• The provision of assistance with bookkeeping and preparation of management accounts from source documents provided by clients
• The provision of assistance with the implementation of IFRS/GAPSME adoption, transitioning to new standards, formal accounting opinions and memoranda
• The provision of assistance with the preparation of group reporting packages
• Providing specialised training, audit readiness, finance function transformation and VAT compliance services
• The provision of assistance with draft tax computations
• Assistance in the preparation of separate and consolidated financial statements in terms of the relevant accounting standards applied
• Client and engagement onboarding, preparing draft Letters of Engagement, billing, debtor and WIP management and act as a key contact person for KPMG with a portfolio of clients
• Take an active role in networking, business development and delivering technical and promotional presentations about KPMG and the services it offers
• Other ad hoc administrative or accounting tasks

• Education – currently reading for their ACCA qualification

• Prior experience with IFRS and/or US GAAP financial reporting would be considered as an asset
