Job Description

As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the Power Division across the North Power region, working closely with operational teams to provide effective finance business partnering. You’ll help ensure financial controls are maintained and adhered to, supporting strong governance and compliance. You will play an important role in managing working capital and preparing accurate financial and commercial information to support performance, forecasting, and investment decisions. This role offers great exposure within a fast-paced, operational environment and an opportunity to further develop your finance business partnering skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Work closely with finance and commercial processing teams to ensure control compliance
  • Preparation and control of cashflow and working capital
  • Carry out debtor and creditor reviews
  • Review and oversee the payroll process
  • Work with Sales and Operations to maintain CRM for future opportunities
  • Ensure best-practice financial controls are adhered to and continuously improved
  • Take responsibility of weekly reporting and provide valuable analysis to stakeholders
  • Liaise with external auditors during annual audit process
  • Maintain key tax control accounts and accurate up-to-date P11D records

Requirements

  • Part-qualified accountant
  • Experience from an accounting role
  • Strong Excel and systems skills
  • Ideally exposure to commercial finance
  • Confident working at pace
  • Proactive team player
  • Ability to influence and motivate others

  • Assist department head on establishing various cost control measures by providing data, tools and analysis as required
  • Assist to Finance Manager and Controller to conduct internal audit (AP expenditure related) as per yearly audit schedule (Marriott International Controller audit/LAP)
