One of Sydney's best known, and largest hospitality group is seeking an Assistant Accountant - Tax to join its Head Office in the CBD. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth management of all compliance obligations for the Group. In this role, you will assist with the preparation, reconciliation and review of financial and tax information to support compliance and reporting requirements. Working closely with the broader finance team, you will contribute to the timely delivery of accurate reporting, support key processes and controls, and help maintain high standards of financial integrity while positively contributing to the brand and culture of the team. Job Responsibility:
Assist with the preparation of tax returns multiple entities within the Group
Support the team in gathering and preparing documentation required for ATO reviews and other regulatory activities
Assist with the preparation and lodgement of monthly, quarterly and annual tax obligations including BAS, IAS and FBT returns
Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office and other regulatory bodies as required
Maintain accurate records in line with compliance requirements
Work collaboratively with senior members of the team to support key tax and reporting responsibilities
Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines
Attention to detail with analytical skills and accuracy in managing records
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Accounting software and tools such as Excel
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Has completed a relevant degree
Has started or looking at completing CPA/CA
0-2 years post university experience
