Job Description:

The Record to Report (RTR) team within Finance Operations plays a key role in ensuring ITV’s financial information is accurate, reliable and delivered on time. The team manages core accounting activities that support the integrity of ITV’s financial reporting, working closely with teams across Finance Operations and the wider business. Within RTR, the Intercompany Accounting team is responsible for managing and reconciling intercompany transactions across the Group. The team works in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a strong focus on accuracy, continuous improvement and strengthening financial controls as ITV continues its finance transformation journey. We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant – Core to join the RTR team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the RTR Manager – Core, you’ll support the delivery of accurate and timely general ledger close activities, helping ensure financial statements reflect the correct position for each reporting period. This role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in accounting who enjoys working with journals, investigating discrepancies and improving processes. You’ll play an important role in month-end close, supporting a range of accounting activities while working closely with colleagues across Finance Operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Preparing and posting journals with clear supporting documentation in line with RTR policies
  • Supporting sub-ledger to general ledger close activities
  • Completing recharges, reallocations, IFRS adjustments and revaluation journals
  • Supporting fixed asset accounting including additions, depreciation and disposals
  • Assisting with lease accounting and other technical accounting areas
  • Investigating and resolving data issues within Oracle Fusion, identifying root causes
  • Supporting audit activities and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Contributing to process improvements, automation and system testing activities

Requirements:

  • Assistant Accountant (part-qualified or equivalent experience) with experience in a finance function
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and journal preparation
  • Ability to analyse the financial effect of journals and understand impact on P&L and balance sheet
  • Experience using accounting systems (Oracle Fusion or similar ERP preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and good numeracy skills
  • Organised and able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A problem-solving mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Comfortable working through change and supporting transformation initiatives
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Interest in improving processes and supporting automation
  • Developing IT skills, particularly in Excel and Google Suite
