Job Description

The Asset Performance Engineer will lead the technical analysis and execution related to revenue protection, market parameter optimisation, and value tracking across our utility-scale BESS portfolio.

Job Responsibility

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative technical discipline
  • Strong experience in performance engineering, energy trading analytics, or optimisation analytics within utility-scale renewables, power generation, or BESS networks
  • Deep understanding of UK ancillary services, grid code compliance, and revenue performance metrics (including D* and QR/BR delivery performance)
  • Strong proficiency analysing large operational and market data sets (e.g., using Python, SQL, or specialised BI and asset performance platforms) to extract clear commercial insights
  • Solid familiarity with contractual frameworks and testing requirements for grid services and Capacity Market contracts

Nice to have

  • Experience operating at the interface between technical asset management and commercial power trading teams
  • Working knowledge of battery storage constraints, including state-of-charge (SoC) behaviours and system derates
  • IAM certification
