Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Asset Manager specializing in Property Accounting to oversee the financial management and accounting for a diverse portfolio of 18 properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and working closely with property stakeholders to optimize asset performance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the accounting processes for 18 properties, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of property income, expenses, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders, including ownership and management teams
  • Develop and manage property budgets, including annual budgets, reforecasts, and variance analysis
  • Work closely with property managers to monitor cash flow, address discrepancies, and recommend cost-saving measures
  • Collaborate with property managers to ensure tenant lease agreements and billing are aligned, including rent escalations, percentage rents, and other adjustments
  • Monitor delinquency reports and work with stakeholders on collection efforts
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal accounting regulations and tax requirements for all properties under management
  • Prepare for and manage audits, ensuring timely submission of required documentation to auditors or governmental authorities
  • Utilize property management accounting platforms to track performance and support financial functions
  • Identify areas for process improvement to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reporting timeliness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of demonstrated experience in property accounting or asset management in the real estate industry
  • Proven track record of managing multiple properties, portfolios, or projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in property accounting software or other similar systems
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to create detailed financial models, reports, and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, real estate tax regulations, and financial compliance
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in asset management or property management within the real estate sector
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and performance evaluation
  • Familiarity with key property documents, including regulatory, loan, and partnership agreements
  • Proficiency in compliance reporting for tax credit agencies, lenders, and investors
  • Ability to develop and implement capital improvement and exit strategies for properties
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to diverse stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in property accounting and financial systems
