Asset Manager role for a top-tier civil construction and engineering specialist focusing on major public infrastructure projects.
Job Responsibility:
Implement and manage a robust system (using GPS/telematics) for real-time tracking of all high-value machinery and equipment
Oversee the precise deployment and movement of assets between the central yard and multiple remote construction sites to prevent misplacement or theft
Ensure all transfers are documented and accounted for, establishing strict sign-in/sign-out procedures
Develop and enforce a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule for all heavy machinery (cranes, excavators, piling rigs, etc.) to maximize equipment lifespan and operational reliability
Manage the in-house workshop and external vendor contracts for major repairs, focusing on rapid turnaround to minimize project-critical downtime
Lead the annual Capital Expenditure (CapEx) planning process, analyzing project pipeline needs to make data-driven recommendations for new equipment acquisition
Perform Life Cycle Cost Analysis for major assets to determine the most financially optimal time for replacement or overhaul
Develop and execute a structured Asset Disposal Planning process for aging or under-utilized equipment
Manage the sale, trade-in, or decommissioning of assets to ensure the company achieves the maximum possible recovery value while adhering to all regulatory and environmental standards
Manage the procurement and inventory levels of high-value construction materials (e.g., steel, precast components) and critical spare parts, ensuring supply chain reliability while optimizing holding costs
Analyze usage data and maintenance records to continuously reduce operational costs, particularly fuel consumption and repair expenses
Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, construction management, or related field
Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience in Fleet Management or Equipment Management within the heavy civil engineering or construction sector
Proven expertise in Equipment Asset Management (EAM) or CMMS software
Must have hands-on experience implementing or managing GPS/Telematics tracking solutions
Strong analytical capabilities, negotiation skills, and proven ability to manage complex logistics across multiple remote sites
