We’re looking for a seasoned trade professional with a current NZ Electrical Practising Licence to take on a field-based role that blends technical inspections, risk assessments, digital reporting, and relationship management. You’ll play a key part in keeping our network safe, reliable, and future-ready.
Job Responsibility:
Conducting cyclic inspections and testing across a wide range of distribution assets — overhead, underground, substations and more
Identifying defects and risks, capturing data accurately with mobile devices
Completing on-site minor repairs where needed
Supporting asset audits, GPS location, and cable/circuit identification
Assisting in quality assurance, safety audits, and post-construction verification
Collaborating with internal teams, contractors, landowners, and customers
Requirements:
NZ Electrical Practising Licence
Background in electricity distribution
Solid understanding of industry regulations, safety procedures, and testing methods
Comfortable using GIS tools, tablets, and digital data systems (or open to learning)
Strong judgement on asset condition and confident working independently in the field
A self-starting, customer-minded approach — able to represent the business well on-site
