This candidate brings 25 years of progressive experience in commercial credit, with deep expertise in credit analysis, portfolio management, and team leadership. His background is concentrated in commercial credits, including C I, commercial real estate, asset-based lending, factoring, SBA, and loan workout. He has full-cycle underwriting experience-gathering documentation, analyzing cash flow and collateral, structuring transactions, preparing comprehensive credit presentations, and presenting recommendations to credit committee. He has held individual credit approval authority up to $500,000, with larger relationship moving through senior credit officer and committee review. In addition to his technical strength, he has consistently served as a mentor and leader, most recently overseeing four direct reports while guiding and developing junior analysts across multiple roles. His experience spans institutions ranging from $600 million to $70 billion in assets, giving him both community bank perspective and large-bank discipline. He holds undergraduate degrees in Finance and Accounting as well as an MBA in Accounting. Originally from Chicago, with family ties to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, he and his wife are highly open to relocation.

  • Oversee and monitor LIHTC properties from Stabilization (receipt of executed 8609s or final release of equity) through the end of the 15-year compliance period
  • Act as a liaison between CREA and its operating partners within the CREA Portfolio to provide ongoing monitoring and updates to CREA’s investor partners
  • Collect, review, and provide financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for properties

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external managers to help ensure portfolios are managed consistent with investment objectives, liability considerations, regulatory expectations, capital efficiency targets, and enterprise risk tolerances
  • Utilize a strong understanding of fixed income markets, corporate credit analysis, insurance investment considerations, and manager-of-managers governance to support disciplined portfolio oversight and investment decision-making
  • Oversee third-party asset managers for assigned mandates, including recurring communication, performance evaluation, guideline monitoring, and assessment of manager capabilities, portfolio positioning, and credit risk exposures
  • Evaluate aggregate exposures across managers, entities, portfolios, and asset classes, including sector, issuer, rating, duration, liquidity, spread, structured credit, private asset, and concentration risks
