Job Description

Do you want to be at the forefront of innovation in higher education? Multiverse is looking for a driven individual to join the passionate team delivering our rapidly growing portfolio of degree apprenticeship programmes. As the first training provider to deliver degree apprenticeships, we are pioneers in this space and growing rapidly - to date over 800 learners and their employers have chosen to build advanced skills in data, programming and software engineering with us. As Assessments Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth operations of all elements of the assessments that underpin our degree apprenticeships. This includes marking and moderation of modular assessments, delivery of end-point assessments and all associated policies, procedures, quality assurance and learner-facing support. You will lead a team that ensures that we deliver assessments in a way that is compliant, efficient and provides an outstanding experience to our growing population of degree apprentices.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the Advanced Assessments function and internal Awarding Organisation for Multiverse degree apprenticeships, owning the policies and processes that ensure smooth, compliant and high-quality assessment delivery
  • Contribute to the overall strategy for degree programmes and assessments, both as a key member of the Learner Services management team and collaborating cross-functionally with Delivery and other teams to drive improvements and provide seamless operations and learner experience
  • Manage the delivery of marking and moderation for modular assessments, ensuring apprentices’ project submissions are marked and moderated within SLAs and in line with regulations
  • Oversee all internal and external quality assurance activity (IQA & EQA) for degree programme assessments, including running the Board of Examiners, the key mechanism that awards grades and enables learners to progress through their programme journey
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of gateways and end-point assessments for which Multiverse is the awarding organisation, ensuring policies align with regulatory requirements, processes are compliant and efficient, and data and feedback are used to improve operations and learner experience
  • Lead a small internal operations team, manage a pool of External Examiners and External Assessors (contractors) who deliver and quality-assure key elements of degree assessments, and manage tools and technologies that support assessment activity across Multiverse

Requirements

  • Experience of working in an Assessment Organisation/EPAO or awarding body setting
  • Experience of working with Office for Students and Department for Education regulation, including managing External Quality Assurance visits
  • Familiarity with Apprenticeship Standards, IfATE/Skills England and in particular degree apprenticeship policies and processes
  • AI-led mindset that seeks to drive innovation and efficiency in operational delivery
  • People management experience
  • Excellent communicator
  • Strong problem-solving abilities

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with version 1.2 of the Digital and Technology Solutions Professional degree apprenticeship standard
  • Assessment-related qualifications such as IQA Award, Certificate in Leading IQA or Award in Undertaking End Point Assessment
  • Knowledge of the Office for Students’ Conditions of Registration

What we offer

  • 27 days holiday, plus 5 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company-wide wellbeing days (M-Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year
  • private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill - all in one mental health support
  • Hybrid work offering - for most roles we collaborate in the office three days per week with the exception of Coaches and Instructors who collaborate in the office once a month
  • Work-from-anywhere scheme - you'll have the opportunity to work from anywhere, up to 10 days per year
  • Space to connect: Beyond the desk, we make time for weekly catch-ups, seasonal celebrations, and have a kitchen that’s always stocked!
