Job Description:

Come join Team Chatham! The town of Chatham seeks a knowledgeable, detail oriented and customer service focused individual for the position of temporary part-time Assessing Exemption Coordinator. This position supports the administration of residential property tax exemption programs and related Assessing functions. Responsibilities include coordinating the exemption application process, verifying eligibility requirements, preparing materials for review by the Board of Assessors, communicating application status and maintaining accurate records and databases. The position also provides assistance to the Assessors Division in carrying out daily functions. This is a temporary part-time position (averaging 19 hours per week) with the potential to be extended to a longer-term opportunity. The position is not eligible for benefits or participation in pension system. Starting hourly wage is $26.69 – $27.77 depending on qualifications and experience.
