Job Description

The Assembly Production is responsible for assembling components into finished or semi-finished products using manual and automated equipment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position requires attention to detail, ability to follow work instructions, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. Candidates must be comfortable working on their feet for long periods and handling repetitive tasks with precision.

Job Responsibility

  • Will maintain a clean and safe working environment in all areas of department
  • Will assemble injection molding and or purchased components into semi-finished products in accordance with established Quality Assurance policies and procedures
  • Will monitor ‘Control Shots’ for correct date parameters and notify a lead when the shots are expired
  • Can operate any of the 20+ Automated/Semi Automated machines. Will be capable of performing a minimum amount of maintenance to prevent and resolve machine malfunctions. Feeds machine components as needed to prevent down time. Will meet the established ‘cycle times’ determined for each machine
  • Notifies supervisor of any machine failure or quality discrepancies
  • Utilizes proprietary interface system used in tracking inventory, locating parts, referencing instructional guides and accurately posting production
  • Will perform a weekly Internal Quality Audit to ensure departmental standards are being achieved by coworkers
  • Will perform 6S housekeeping duties and responsibilities in order to keep department organized, efficient and safe
  • Will follow the ‘4 Step Labeling Process’ to ensure that customers receive the correct product in an efficient manner
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be willing to take an active role in plant wide safety activities
  • Must have basic knowledge of the functions of the equipment used in the Assembly Department
  • Must demonstrate a solid knowledge of basic mathematics to read measuring devices such as calipers, push/pull gauges, torque watches and torque wrenches
  • Must be able to set-up, utilize and read digital scales
  • Ability to understand and follow written operational procedures and work instructions to safely and efficiently perform essential functions required
  • Acceptable training and experience include high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have basic understanding of various assembly prints, criteria and other quality tools
  • Will have strong ability to spot and eliminate quality issues from own work and the work of others
  • Must have a thorough understanding of touch-screen interface systems (HMI’s) and its respective software
  • Must have the physical capacity to achieve the minimum standard of acceptable output per shift (varies depending on assigned task)
  • Will have a minimum understanding of ISO (International Organization of Standardization) guidelines to ensure our company meets quality, safety and efficiency goals
  • Will be capable of assisting in problem-solving of safety and quality issues
