Job Description

The Assembly Engineering Manager at Aptiv leads technical teams to develop, implement, and optimize assembly processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and alignment with production objectives, while managing resources, people, and technology to achieve productivity goals and manufacturing cost reduction.

Job Responsibility

  • Participation in decision-making for Assembly Business Plans to achieve the plant’s objectives
  • Authorized to stop a process or product that poses a risk to employee safety, the facilities, the product itself, or the customer
  • Lead the fulfillment of delivery plans to Assembly and external customers
  • Lead the headcount goals of the Assembly area versus what is approved by Plant Management
  • Follow up on the correct execution of activities for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Operating System
  • Actively participate in compliance with divisional, local policies, procedures, and labor agreements related to operational personnel
  • Train, develop, and evaluate assigned personnel
  • Responsible for monitoring performance metrics, evaluating them, and reviewing them daily with the Molding staff and Plant staff
  • Follow up on Action Plans in A3 Projects: Manufacturing, SPQVC, and Glasswall Charts
  • Has the authority to stop the process when a risk is detected to the integrity of people, machinery, equipment, product quality, and/or the environment
  • Coordinate the introduction of new projects into the operation
  • Verify compliance with PPAP timelines according to the provided plans
  • Implement process improvement initiatives within operations
  • Support multidisciplinary teams in resolving quality and operational issues
  • Train, develop, and evaluate assigned personnel
  • Monitor performance metrics
  • Follow up on action plans related to continuous improvement processes
  • Enforce company procedures and policies
  • Maintain a safe work environment

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing systems
  • English fluent
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes
  • Operation/handling of injection molding machines and peripheral equipment
  • Personnel management
  • Experienced in SAP and database management
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and A3 Problem Solving (PPS)
  • Skilled in interpreting and generating financial reports
  • Familiar with the Conventional Injection Molding Process and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering areas
