Performs a variety of mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies in a clean room environment. Follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, on assembly units. Performs and reports parts inventory to reduce the impact from parts shortages. Properly escalates production issues to the Lead or Supervisor to minimize production delays.
Job Responsibility:
Perform detailed assembly, quality control, and system integration for mechanical components and electronic sub-assemblies
Work strictly from manufacturing production instructions, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate product assembly
Effectively utilize hand tools to assemble units according to specifications
Follow documented policies, procedures, and detailed Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs) as designated by the company’s Quality System
Complete lot acceptance activities for the assigned assembly cell
Observe, maintain, coordinate, and complete standard work processes
Adhere to company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workplace (supporting 5S activities)
Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, results, and required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements
Using MRP transact picked parts and reports assembly unit’s status
Track and maintain parts, tools, and equipment inventory to ensure materials are stocked for continuous production
Update production metrics and facilitate regular team communication regarding output and status
Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor to the Production Lead or Supervisor
Work closely with support staff (Technicians, Manufacturing and Quality Engineering, Production Supervisor, Materials/Warehouse) to resolve issues
Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the work cell
Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Production Supervisor and Lead
Requirements:
Minimum of 2+ years of experience and demonstrated knowledge of electronic sub assemblies and system integration
Previous experience in mechanical assembly or a related field is preferred
Previous knowledge (one + year) of electronic sub-assemblies & system integration is preferred
Excellent manual dexterity skills and proficiency with hand and power tools
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components
Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a team player
Ability to communicate and follow manufacturing process instructions in English
Ability to lift up to 20-45 pounds
Be able to work during weekends and flexibility time if needed to meet production schedules
Knowledge of ISO standards or other industry certifications
Lean manufacturing and continual process improvement experience
