Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to assemble quality endoscope imaging systems while adhering to prescribed standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Semi-routine assembles of various intricate optical, electronic and mechanical components
  • Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned assembly tasks
  • Quantity of units produced should correspond to the time standards
  • Perform cleaning and inspection of various components using hand tools and ultrasonic baths
  • Load/unload ovens
  • Responsible for following prescribed assembly techniques and within assigned time standards to produce quality video endoscope sub assemblies while meeting productivity guidelines
  • May perform three or more of the following: Assembler I responsibilities as well as complete Light guide assembly, distal tip assembly
  • channel sub-assembly, Final Inspection
  • Actively participate in company sponsored training programs
  • Ability to cross train in other value stream assemblies as needed
  • Understand the process flow on assigned tasks (suppliers/customers) and the impact of their decisions
  • Aware of practices and processes utilizing current management tools
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all environmental and safety laws and regulations, including the Company’s environmental and safety policies and procedures
  • The incumbent in this position is responsible for knowledge of and adherence to environmental policies and company procedures as they relate to ISO 14001
  • Responsible for informing the Company if he/she is taking medications or if there are any other circumstances that would interfere with safe performance of job duties
  • Other specific safety responsibilities include proper use of personal and departmental safety equipment
  • The incumbent in this position is responsible for knowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures as they relate to the requirements of FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 (current revisions)

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of experience assembling miniature precision medical products preferred
  • Proficient in all sub-assembly disassembly, or basic assembly in three or more tasks and/or work areas
  • Must possess ability to understand assembly drawings and written assembly procedures
  • Ability to operate moderately complicated machinery
  • Ability to meet takt time and quality standards
  • Must have the ability to work with adhesives, solvents, microscopes, small hand and power tools, measurement devices and other related tools and equipment
  • Must be able to work well with coworkers
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Must be punctual, able to sustain attendance guidelines, and work hours as assigned
  • Good manual dexterity and eye hand coordination
  • Keen vision and the ability to pay close attention to details
  • Ability to perform detailed assembly work with a microscope for extended periods
  • Must be able to climb stairs
  • This position requires the individual to work in a Class 1000 cleanroom environment, including full cleanroom garb, and abide by company and department policy regarding cleanroom practices (i.e. no cosmetics or perfumes)
  • Must be able to wear gloves or finger cots
  • Ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly
  • Must make decisions that affect coworkers and product quality
  • Ability to read English and understand SOP’s and manufacturing procedures
