Job Description

The Home Building Team Member - Assembler I is an entry-level position that performs the manufacturing production operations assigned to each department in the home building process. The position follows standard production methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Job Responsibility

  • Practice safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe while observing all relevant OSHA regulations
  • Work in a team environment to produce products that conform to our quality standards while achieving our productivity objectives
  • Serve as a good steward of our company’s physical assets, protecting them from damage and misuse, reporting all needed maintenance, keeping assigned areas clean and orderly
  • Assist Supervisors and Forepersons to plan and organize the manufacturing activities in your area by communicating anticipated material shortages, identifying required tool maintenance, and communicating any quality and productivity issues
  • Perform other duties assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Construction or Warehouse Experience a plus, but not required
  • Versatility and willingness to transfer into various departments when necessary
  • Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings greatly desired
  • Skilled in the operation and control of hand tools (tape measure, hammer, utility knife, etc.)
  • Flexible to work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Verbal expression ability to effectively present information, in both individual and small group situations
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Ability to read tape measure
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Overtime work is involved
