Job Description

Randstad is recruiting a Component Assembler for a 3 to 6-month contract with a strong possibility of extension for a world-class emergency lighting manufacturer in Dorval. This day shift position at $19/hr offers a stable weekday schedule (finishing early on Fridays at 2:15 PM) and overtime opportunities. The role involves assembling small components, inspecting quality, and packing products.

Job Responsibility

  • Precision assembly of mechanical and electronic parts to build emergency lighting units
  • perform basic visual inspections and quality checks on each assembled unit
  • safely handle hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic equipment
  • interpret work orders, parts lists, and follow technical assembly drawings
  • carefully pack finished products according to established work instructions
  • participate in workstation rotation and maintain a steady production pace

Requirements

  • Reconcile headcount needed on a per shift basis based on schedule production demands
  • Perform scheduled quality checks, disposition product, identify any deviations that may occur and take the appropriate action to include stopping production on the machine if necessary
  • Inspect finished product to ensure quality standards are being met
  • Complete batch/code changes, tank changes, as well as sub lots as needed
  • Document required information on manufacturing logs and/or POMS system
  • Investigate, identify and correct or escalate any inefficiency in the machine's performance including mechanical wear, alignment, adjustment, and setup issues
  • Develop standard work for troubleshooting and setups/changeovers
