At Lam, as an Assembler, you play a vital role in electronic, electron-mechanical, and mechanical product assembly on wafer fabrication equipment (WFE) in a lean manufacturing clean-room environment. You’ll use your insights, computer-based instructions, hand tools and fixtures to install parts and hardware. Your expertise ensures precise setup and adjustments, holding tolerances to specifications, and contributes to the quality of Lam's products.
Job Responsibility:
Effectively use instructions and schematics, hand tools, equipment, and fixtures to assemble and install parts/hardware for WFE
Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities, including rework requirements to maintain workflow and production schedules
Ensure correct part delivery and performs visual inspection of components before installation
Perform audits by conducting visual inspection, verifying checklists, performing leak checks, and document findings
Cross-train in multiple work centers (e.g., Final Assembly, Sub Assembly, Feeder Bay, Preship, NPI)
Train other assemblers on specific job functions and mentor them on continuous improvement behaviors
Identify, document, and disposition Non-Conformance Items (NCIs), assisting with troubleshooting, and escalate to engineering as needed
Review and suggest recommended improvements to work instructions
Support a safe work environment by following safe work practices, adhering to safety guidelines, utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and following Lockout Tagout (LOTO) policies and procedures
Provide timely clear communication to stakeholders including production status, tasks completed, signoffs, detailed descriptions, continuous improvement ideas, and shift pass downs.
Requirements:
4-6 Years of mechanical or related assembly experience
Associates Degree, Technical Certificate, or Diploma in Engineering or related field
Effective communication skills, written and verbal in English
Able to work 12-hour shifts in fast paced and time-sensitive environment
Proficiency in computer-based data systems, applications, and Microsoft Office software
Frequently position oneself (e.g., bend, stoop, reach, walk, sit, twist, squat, kneel, climb, stand) to perform job tasks including: moving parts and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds
operating various hand tools, equipment, and fixtures
Distinguish various wires by color, size, thickness, markings, etc.
Nice to have:
Experience working in a manufacturing environment or in semiconductor capital equipment industry is nice to have.
