Job Description:

EdEx are exclusively working with a mainstream secondary school in Waltham Forest (East London) to find x2 Teaching Assistants (Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist – Teaching Assistant) to work in the schools Speech, Communication and Language provision, supporting children with various needs including Speech and Language, Communication, Social, Autism (Verbal and Non-Verbal) needs & more!

Job Responsibility:

Opportunity to take part and lead specialist interventions in Lego Therapy, Speech and Language, Zones of Regulation & more
Work closely with specialist Teachers, Therapists & Psychologists to best support secondary aged pupils with various needs
Support various students with wide-ranging needs 1-2-1 and in small groups, inside and outside of the classrooms

Requirements:

A graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 – subject isn’t a barrier, ideally from a reputable university
Good A-Levels and GCSEs – including English at GCSE
Previous experience supporting children, young people or adolescents – Essential
A genuine passion for supporting young people with barriers to learning
An inquisitive, warm and nurturing personality
Must be able to speak confidently and calmly – personality is everything in these roles
