As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency, we are seeking a proactive Asphalt Plant Operative to join our dedicated production team. The successful candidate will be expected to operate and maintain the asphalt plant in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. They will ensure that all asphalt products are produced to the highest quality standards while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence at the plant. This role would suit an individual who is a safety-conscious team player looking for a rewarding career in asphalt production. Shifts would be split between day and nights covering weekend works when required
Job Responsibility:
Operating the asphalt plant in accordance with production schedules and Eurovia Roadstone’s quality standards
Monitor, control, and adjust plant settings to ensure consistent production and compliance with mix specifications
Carry out daily plant inspections and ensure all equipment is maintained to safe operating standards
Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs in line with planned maintenance schedules
Load and manage incoming raw materials
Maintain accurate production and stock records, ensuring traceability and compliance with company systems
Liaise with the Quality Control team to ensure that all mixes meet technical and customer requirements
Promote and adhere to Eurovia Roadstone’s health, safety, and environmental standards, reporting any incidents or near misses immediately
Support the continuous improvement of site operations and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Undertake other site duties as required, including mobile plant operation if appropriately trained
Requirements:
Previous experience in asphalt, quarrying, or a similar heavy plant operation
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with batching/control systems
Awareness and understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance
Mobile or fixed plant qualifications (Loading Shovel, Telehandler, or similar)
Basic mechanical or electrical maintenance skills
Full UK driving licence
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when working independently
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards
Flexibility and organization skills
Effective communication and customer focus
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
