The mechanic is responsible and accountable for maintaining equipment in the plant in a safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant condition. The mechanic strives to achieve the highest operating efficiency, job efficiency, and standard of performance possible while conducting machine set-up, troubleshooting, and repairs. The incumbent also optimizes the preventative/predictive maintenance process. The mechanic is responsible for communicating critical information concerning environmental compliance, homeland security, and operational issues to the designated associate.
Job Responsibility
Performs emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service
Assists operators in more complicated repairs and adjustments where precision skills are needed
Complete all reports and transactions required to document work in SAP
Performs preventive maintenance tasks and inspections as required
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required work
Fabricates and welds as needed to specifications
Perform building maintenance as needed (lights, exhaust fans, painting, etc.)
