Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to work in Bexley. The ideal ASD Teaching Assistant is someone who is passionate about working with children with special educational needs, has a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Your role as the ASD Teaching Assistant will be to provide support to students with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and Mental Health Issues in an ‘Outstanding’ SEN primary school. You will assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons adapted to suit individual needs, as well as providing one-to-one support for students who require it.

Job Responsibility:

Providing support to students with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and Mental Health Issues in an ‘Outstanding’ SEN primary school
Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons adapted to suit individual needs
Providing one-to-one support for students who require it
Supporting pastoral, SEMH, and academic needs
Working 1:1 and in small groups with children who have ASD

Requirements:

Hold a degree from a reputable university at a 1:1 or 2:1 level
Have experience working with children and young people with additional needs
Have a positive and patient approach towards students with additional needs
Be adaptable, flexible and able to use your initiative
Ideally have experience supporting students with autism or social, emotional and mental health needs
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Nice to have:

Ideally have experience supporting students with autism or social, emotional and mental health needs
