We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to work in Lewisham. The ideal ASD Teaching Assistant is someone who is passionate about working with children with special educational needs, has a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Your role as the ASD Teaching Assistant will be to provide support to students with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and Mental Health Issues in an ‘Outstanding’ primary school. You will assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons adapted to suit individual needs, as well as providing one to one support for students who require it. ASD teaching assistant – Person Specification: Hold a degree from a reputable university at a 1:1 or 2:1 level. Have experience working with children and young people with additional needs, Have a positive and patient approach towards students with additional needs, Be adaptable, flexible and able to use your initiative, Ideally have experience supporting students with autism or social, emotional and mental health needs, Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, ASD Teaching Assistant – Job Description: £105 – £120 per day Full-time and long-term position September 2026 Start Comprehensive induction and ongoing training provided Opportunities for CPD Working 1:1 and in small groups with children who have ASD Supporting pastoral, SEMH, and academic needs ASD Teaching Assistant – School Description A Holistic focussed school, aiming to develop ‘The Whole Child’ This is done by tending to all the needs of the child, not just academia.
