An Asbestos Worker fabricates, removes, installs, and disposes of insulating materials and coverings from equipment and areas; sets-up and maintains containment areas for the removal and disposal of hazardous materials in conjunction with insulation work and elimination of possible Hantavirus contamination; and does related work.

Requirements:
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as an Asbestos Worker
Six years of full-time paid experience as an insulator or asbestos worker performing insulating or asbestos-type work
Valid Class C driver’s license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Must be free from certain types of facial hair and medical conditions to safely wear a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
Must be trained and maintain certification as a 'Competent Person' in the handling, decontamination, and disposal of hazardous materials such as asbestos and lead
