Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Asbestos Surveys Manager to lead and develop our current surveying team. Reporting to the Contracts Director and working with the wider contract management team, this is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong asbestos surveys professional ready to step into (or further develop within) a management role. You will oversee the delivery of Management and Refurbishment & Demolition Surveys in full compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSG264 guidance and guidance from the Health and Safety Executive, in line with Company policies, ensuring high technical standards, strong team performance, and continued commercial success.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Asbestos Surveys Department
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and detailed asbestos survey reports, including risk assessments and recommended actions
  • Foster a collaborative culture, ensuring effective communication and team management of the surveying team
  • Work with other departments, such as contracting and asbestos removals, to provide an overview of survey findings and compliant guidance for safe and efficient removal programmes
  • Ensure compliance with required accreditation requirements
  • Review and quality control sign off on technical survey reports
  • Lead, mentor, and train surveyors to ensure high standards of work and regulatory compliance
  • Manage survey project budgets, ensuring effective cost control and resource allocation
  • Prepare for and manage internal audits
  • Support tendering and client relationship management
  • Drive quality, efficiency, and profitability

Requirements:

  • BOHS P402 qualified (P405 desirable)
  • Minimum 3 years’ asbestos surveying experience
  • Proven supervisory or asbestos management experience (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of UK asbestos legislation and HSG264
  • Commercially aware with excellent organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence, with the ability to travel
